Barry Borden, Principal
For more than 23 years, Barry J. Borden has honed his skills to become a passionate, organized, self-motivated and high-performing professional in the construction industry with a commitment and dedication that are as rare as they are valuable. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership positions with both private and public homebuilding companies. His career in the industry began while managing customer relations for Florida-based Lennar Homes in their Broward County division. Within a few short months after his hire, Lennar management wanted him to continue with them on an aggressive path to management. Through ever-increasing levels of hands-on experience, Barry oversaw daily construction of multiple communities with direct report responsibilities. After several years with Lennar, he ventured out to other companies serving in various executive management positions and acquiring additional business knowledge along the way. A few years later, Lennar sought him out to take over the Palm Beach division’s construction department. This responsibility included leading customer service, permitting, purchasing, and construction departments that produced in excess of 500 homes per year. In his most recent position prior to co-founding SkyBlue Homes, LLC, Barry was recruited by Villa Development, LLC in Virginia to oversee their day-to-day operations as Vice President. During this time, he was responsible for all financial oversight, customer service, purchasing, construction and land-development operations. Barry graduated from Broward Community College in Florida and holds a Contractor’s License in both Virginia and Florida. He is now taking his vast years of experience and applying them to operate SkyBlue Homes as a fiscally responsible, ethically operated business.

Shelia Byers, Principal
Expertise, commitment and the creativity to make things happen – those are just a few of the skills Shelia Byers always brings to the table.  For more than 36 years, Shelia has dedicated her career to setting sales records and launching a variety of successful and unique marketing campaigns for housing communities.  She has also trained and motivated dozens of sales agents along the way. New construction has been Shelia’s focus for 34 of the past 36 years where she has gained vast knowledge in every aspect of a community’s early life, from initial community pre-marketing to final homes settlement.  With more than 3,000 home sales and 21+ projects under her belt – so far – her experience is matched only by her enthusiasm for life and total dedication to every opportunity that comes her way.  Prior to founding SkyBlue Homes, Shelia served as Vice President of Marketing for Villa Development in eastern Virginia where her focus was on specialty marketing and sales for active adult housing.  With help from Villa’s incredible residents and her exceptional sales team, Shelia helped lead the communities of Villa in Virginia to achieve total sell out months sooner than projected, marking an exciting milestone for Shelia’s professional career as well as the more than 600 seniors she helped to discover new maintenance-free lives.  Shelia is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the states of Virginia and North Carolina and welcomes the chance to apply her unique and proven background for the best interests of all those SkyBlue serves.
